C DisK-IV Ocean Expedition

In the summer of 2017...

I was invited aboard the Kilo Moana to do outreach work with the amazing Jacki Moonves (cinematographer). C DisK-IV was the science expedition name and measuring carbonate dissolution was the oceanography game! C DisK-IV set out to measure climate change's impact on ocean acidification and the team of scientists came away with some notable results. Jacki and I had the honorable job of translating the scientific findings into plain English. Spending a month at sea traveling on the Pacific from Hawaii to Alaska, Jacki and I collaborated on films, drawings and blog posts related to the research gathered on board.

When you spend a long enough time looking out onto the open seas, you start seeing things... We made fun pieces like this to keep research momentum going!
